Import and slice the image file for your email template

With Inkbrush, you can create a new email template from an image, slice regions of your template, and then convert this image into ready-to-use HTML, all within minutes.

  1. Log in to Inkbrush, and then click Create a new email. The Upload Design page is displayed.
  2. Click Choose file, and then select the image file for your email template.
    Note: If you aren't creating a campaign that supports responsive design, skip to step 6.
    1. (Responsive design only) If you're optimizing your email template for responsive design and you have a mobile version of your template, click Add mobile optimized design, and then select the mobile version. Once you've added your design templates, click Start upload.
    You template is loaded into Inkbrush.
  3. (Responsive design only) If you've uploaded both mobile and desktop designs, in the Manage Sections panel, select the design that you want to edit. When you select a section, the following editing options are available

    Versions Displays a complete version history of all of your changes
    Change Design Allows you to replace an existing design
    Remove Removes the design
    Show on Allows you to change the device type (i.e., desktop, mobile, or all) associated with the design
  4. (Responsive design only) To upload a separate header or footer that can be used in this and other emails, do the following:
    1. In the Manage Sections panel, click Upload designs. The Add another design to this email page is displayed.
    2. Click Choose file, and then select the image file for your new header or footer.
    3. In the Show this design on field, specify the device type for the header or footer.
    4. Click Start Upload. The new design is added to the email.
  5. (Responsive design only) To reuse existing headers and footers in your email, do the following:
    1. In the Manage Sections panel, click Reuse parts from other emails. A listing of all reusable sections from all of your templates is displayed.
    2. To filter the listing of reusable sections by device type, in the Show field, select a device filter.
    3. Once you've located the section you want to use, click Add to this part to email.
  6. (Responsive design only) To maximize the viewing area for your email while editing your designs and hide the Manage Sections panel, click in the toolbar, click the Manage Sections button. To redisplay the panel, click the button again.
    1. In the Manage Sections panel, click Reuse parts from other emails. A listing of all reusable sections from all of your templates is displayed.
    2. To filter the listing of reusable sections by device type, in the Show field, select a device filter.
    3. Once you've located the section you want to use, click Add to this part to email.
  7. Within your email template, slice regions by doing any of the following:
    To slice...Do this...
    A square region within your email Click , and drag the cursor over the region you want to define.
    A horizontal line across the width your email Click , and in the email, click the slice.
    A vertical line through the length your email Click , and in the email, click the slice.
    A horizontal line across a sliced region Click , and in the region, click the slice.
    A vertical line through a sliced region Click , and in the region, click the slice.
  8. To adjust the position of a slice, click , and in the email, drag the slice to the new position.
    Note: To capture the precise pixel size for your sliced region, you can nudge individual slices. Use the arrow keys to nudge a slice 1 pixel, and hold down Shift and use the arrow keys to nudge a slice 10 pixels.
  9. To delete a slice, click , and in the email, click the slice you want to delete.
